I have the privilege and pleasure to present PAGED Sklejka S.A. ("Paged - Plywood" Joint Stock Company), one of the largest producers of plywood on the Polish market. We have been in business since 1952, which speaksvolumes of our long tradition and experience. As a joint stock company. We have been operating since August 27, 1996. The principal stockholder is PAGED S.A. with over 99,91% of shares, while the remaining shares are in the hands of the Polish Treasury, and our Employees. The last three years have been marked with intensive investment policy, which contributed to modernisation of our stock of machine tools, enhacement of quality, and reducing production costs.
It is worth mentioning that the investmenst are financed principally from our own resources. PAGED Sklejka S.A., consistently faithful to the strategy of development, has achieved ever greater economic successes. Our Company is the leading producer of traditional hard and soft plywood, as well as of technical plywood based the modern technology of Finnish Company RAUTE WOOD.
We make both timbering plywood for the construction industry and anti-slipping plywood used in transportation. We produce plywood overlaid with various kinds of phenolic and melamine foils - coloured and decorative, as well as plywood for laser cutting and rough blockboards, overlaid with phenolic or melamine foil or natural veneers (beech, oak, Carolina pine, Canadian maple, American walnut, sapele, American cherry). In the year 2002 we started producing Scarf-Joint plywood, which will enable our company to increase market share in plywood sales. Apart from the plywood we also produce plane-cut veneers, and in order to supplement our assortment we also have exotic veneers. Veneers are used for overlaying plywood and blockboards.
As an answer to market demand for plywood the company PAGED Sklejka S.A. for many years has been investing in new technologies improving product quality and diversity of products. Reaching out to our customers' interests we introduce new products to our offer, as our company's target is to meet the increasing requirements of customers and competitors.
PAGED S.A is currently the dominant subject (parent company) in Paged Capital Group. The company was established on the basis of public enterprise Centrala Handlu Zagranicznego "Paged", which was exporting goods of the wood industry (wood, timber, plywood, boards, decorative wood elements), furniture industry (furniture) and paper industry (paper, paper products), as well as importing (e.g. cellulose, machines and equipment for industry). In 1991 the company CHZ "Paged" Sp. z o.o. has begun creating a capital group, focusing on taking control over domestic manufacturing companies from lumber mill, furniture, plywood, cellulose and paper sectors, as well as forming new subjects for managing distribution of products on the territory of Poland. In 2004 "Paged Handel" S.A. assigns foreign trade directly to manufacturing companies of PAGED Group (furniture- to PAGED-Fabryka Mebli Sp. z o.o. in Jasienica; plywood, veneers, blockboards - to PAGED Sklejka S.A. in Morąg). It enabled increasing price competitiveness of the goods offered, as it eliminated the additional margin of the intermediary.
